ABSTRACT
Investigations of the properties of Bose Einstein condensate analog black holes that are related to Hawking radiation are discussed. Calculations of the two point function and the density density correlation function were done in the case where transverse excitations are present, which leads to a masslike term in the phonon mode equation. Particle production is investigated for the interior of a BEC analog black hole using a simple model in which the effective potential is approximated by two delta function potentials. The particle production in the interior of the analog black hole is also studied for the case of massive phonons. A quantity called the HP correlator is computed for the two-delta function potential model and two other more realistic models. Particle production is also computed for the two more realistic models.
