PHY113L and PHY114L Required Materials for Fall 2020

The Summer and Fall of 2020 present unique challenges to lab instruction. We have adopted and modified a system to deliver the highest quality lab courses possible for General Physics I and II. It will allow us to instruct labs both in person and remotely. The system will utilize a device known as iOLab along with an e-book lab manual for most of the lab activities. PHY114L will also require the purchase of a kit containing components to be used with the iOLab device. Other labs will supplement by using video recordings along with a supplemental lab manual. The courses will be managed through Canvas. Below are the materials required for the course.

PHY113L

  • iOLab Device
  • Primary Lab Manual (offered as a rental e-book only)
  • Supplemental Lab Manual
    • This manual will be provided as a pdf for free in Canvas.
  • Miscellaneous Materials
    • Scotch tape and a length measurement device such as a ruler or tape measure will be helpful.
    • A headset will be needed for the course. A wired set is recommended to avoid bluetooth interference when attending in-person. The course will also require your computer (meeting or exceeding minimum requirements) for each meeting.
